EVIDENCE-BASED SOCIAL RESEARCH

Evidence-Based Social Research

Evidence-based Data-driven development is a critical process for building resilient communities. The importance of data gathering, data analysis, and developing information ecosystems is paramount as the world moves in the direction of sustainable development. Understanding the root causes, drivers and how many of the problems which plague families and communities interconnect, interrelate, and act as barriers to building resilient communities and sustainable development is crucial for our advancement.

Evidence-based social research is an approach to developing programming, training, and technical assistance plans based on available evidence obtained through working in partnership with people to best meet the needs of individuals and communities.

Elements of evidence-based social research include:

  • Developing transformative ways to measure outcomes

  • Centering the voices of people impacted by our work

  • Bridging together community knowledge with quality research

Research also allows for the creation of effective laws and policies and helps states to understand the economic impact and cost of violence and how it affects the citizenship, education, health and well-being, livelihoods, and agency of women, girls, men, and boys as the experiences of each differ.

CBRC intends to embark on collaborative social research using quantitative and qualitative methodologies to guide in the development of creative and innovative ways to combat, prevent, and eliminate violence against individuals or groups of people. We will partner with experts, academic institutions, international organizations, civil society, and various private and public agencies. We will establish an internship system to garner research conducted by young people.

Our work is rooted in the restoration of human dignity, critical consciousness, transformative change processes, and social justice.
